As a Manager, Centralized Trust Administration Group, you lead and oversee Senior Trust Associates within Scotiatrust’s Centralized Trust Administration Group (CTAG), ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. CTAG provides support to Scotiatrust branches across the country, performing centralized administration activities that enable Trust Officers and Associates to focus more on proactive relationship management and delivering high quality service and an exceptional client experience.

Is this role right for you? In this role, one:

• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

• Participates as a member of Scotiatrust’s Discretionary Powers Council (BDPC), ensuring that all exercises of fiduciary discretion are carefully considered and appropriately documented and escalated where policy dictates.

• Oversees and manages a team of Senior Trust Associates within the Centralized Trust Administration Group to maintain consistency of policy and procedures to process payments/distributions, account openings, Estate Settlement tasks, as well as ongoing Trust administration processes, as documented. The incumbent will also contribute recommendations to process changes that align with risk as well as industry shifts.

• Works closely with Senior Manager, National Branch to optimize support for Scotiatrust at a National Level, ensuring that Trust Officers have the necessary administrative support to properly service their accounts and fulfill their mandates.

• Engages with partners within Scotiatrust as well as within the Bank to lead projects and key initiatives with a focus in centralizing activities to create capacity and efficiencies.

• Contributes to the training and ongoing development of Scotiatrust staff to ensure that policies and processes are followed and that the team is well positioned to deliver a coordinated and high-quality client experience.

• Responsible for coaching, mentoring, and managing the performance of trust and estate professionals to support the delivery of high-quality wealth management services to meet client needs.

• Leads a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communication vison/value/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team. Acts as the lead change agent especially related to new procedures and business development.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

• Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

• Post Secondary degree or diploma

• TEP or equivalent designation an asset

• Knowledge of Scotiatrust services and policies

• Knowledge of Provincial Trust Laws and other Acts applicable to the administration of E & T accounts

• Familiar with KYC principle with respect to Scotiatrust with knowledge of AML/ATF, QI, FATCA, CRS
